Who is Tyler “Ninja” Blevins—And just how much money does he make?

Tyler Blevins, also known by the nickname “Ninja”, has become a worldwide internet sensation. The 27-year-old Entrepreneur has almost completely monopolized the just-as-famous video game Fortnite. Blevins has competed in a number of gaming tournaments, regularly live streams on the popular platform known as Twitch, and regularly raises considerably large amounts of money for various charities, foundations, and organizations.

But how does a 27-year-old manage to become as successful as Ninja has in such a short amount of time? A lot of hard work, successful attachment to a highly popular game, and tedious hours spent on producing live streams and YouTube videos. Ninja’s wife. Jessica Blevins, outlined Ninja’s day-today schedule in an interview with Business Insider in the late Summer of 2018. According to her, Blevins spends ten hours or more per day on just his Twitch stream. He wakes up at approximately 9:00 in the morning, often having stayed up past midnight the night before in order to complete his streams. Ninja and Jessica spend half an hour talking about work, home, or their relationship after Ninja wakes up, but then he’s off to stream.

“Sometimes when he goes live at night, I don’t have a chance to talk to him until the morning,” Jessica stated in her interview with Business Insider, “So, if I get any new pitches or things I need to run by him, I’ll do that before he starts streaming.” So how much does Ninja actually make? Ninja receives a considerable sum of money, not only from his streams, but from ad revenue and YouTube channel as well. According to him, about 70% of his income stems from Twitch and Youtube as platforms. What about that pesky 30%? Well, that comes from sponsors such as RedBull and Samsung. Joey Montano has a brilliant write up from last year calculating Blevin’s
estimated monthly income, coming to the conclusion that he easily rakes in upwards of $1,500,000 in that timeframe. And he’s not too far off. Blevins himself claims to have made close to $10,000,000 last year, and we can only assume that those numbers will continue to rise. Blevin has totally dominated the Fornite and Twitch world, enticing curious viewers and hardcore gamers alike around the world, and he’s certainly going to remain a titan in the gaming
and social media realms for a long time.
